Vértice-MAXIMUS is open-source software licensed under the MIT License. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the software in accordance with the MIT License terms.

3. Use of the Platform

You may use Vértice-MAXIMUS for:

• Legitimate cybersecurity defense and research
• Educational and training purposes
• Security testing of systems you own or have explicit permission to test
• Contributing to the open-source project

You may NOT use Vértice-MAXIMUS for:

• Malicious attacks or harm to others

• Any illegal or unethical activities

4. Offensive Response Capabilities

Important Notice: Vértice-MAXIMUS includes automated offensive response capabilities. Users are solely responsible for:

• Ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations
• Obtaining necessary legal permissions before deployment
• Configuring the Constitutional Governance system appropriately
• Understanding the ethical and legal implications of active defense

We strongly recommend consulting with legal counsel before deploying offensive capabilities in production environments.

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT.

The developers and contributors of Vértice-MAXIMUS make no guarantees about the Platform's effectiveness, accuracy, or reliability.

7. Constitutional Consciousness

Vértice-MAXIMUS includes an IIT-validated consciousness substrate governed by constitutional principles. While the system is designed to make ethical decisions:

• Users maintain ultimate responsibility for system behavior
• Constitutional rules must be configured appropriately for your use case
• Human oversight is recommended for critical decisions
• The consciousness system is experimental research technology

8. Community Guidelines

When participating in the Vértice-MAXIMUS community:

• Follow the Code of Conduct
• Respect other community members
• Share knowledge responsibly
• Report security vulnerabilities through responsible disclosure

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Vértice-MAXIMUS project, its contributors, and maintainers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform or violation of these Terms.
